The sun will come out tomorrow...

...or at least with a few clouds covering it, playing peekaboo. I love this glorious weather, yesterday I spent 2 1/2 hours just lying on the beach; I'm pretty sure I fell asleep at one stage it was that nice! But don't worry, I applied factor 15 before I left the house!
When the sun is out, I feel a good sense of cheer; releases happy hormones! The possibility of BBQ's, tans, and having an excuse to wear skirts, shorts and sandals just gets me into an excited frenzy.
I'm looking forward to this summer. Plans so far are having a few friends over, nice dinners, copious grilled meat, tanning, birthday parties and a newly planned trip to London!
Thought it is a reasonable idea; since I'm not getting away anywhere where factor 50 should be the minimum, I'm going to do the touristy London experience. Lover boy and I going to the museums, Madame Tussaud's,and the London Dungeons, not to mention a fancy dinner, maybe a cream tea if I'm lucky. Try and fit in as much as I can into 2 days. I'm excited. And It's even better that I can probably no doubtingly afford it now too.
I have a job!! Hallelujah! I got the interview last Wednesday, and offered it on the same day, and the training started on the Thursday. Pretty cool! So I'm taking on as much overtime as I can, so I can have a summer were I don't have to pause and think "Hey...if I get this, does it mean I have to starve myself for a day??".

I only have 3 weeks of College left, and I have officially received my certificate that I have passed my Level 1!! So it means I'm qualified to wash and blow dry your hair...oh and that I'm not a massive Liability around the shop floor. Haha.
I'm applying tomorrow to do a short course in ear piercing, first they give me scissors, now I'll get a gun! Someone must trust me...

Poor Eddie isn't looking too well. Moved him to a sauce pan through the week, our equivalent to a care home for fish. To let him pass on without Beyonce being all in his face. But maybe he is a really good mime, but once second he is dead, one second he is flipping about. I personally think he is just acting, but I can't think of why, it's not like I'm forcing him to go to school...

Our house is currently over ran by insects; while I was at Asda last night, my huni bean removed 4 spiders from the house. I have vacuumed up so many woodlouse. And not to mention stood on a slug that was one of many lurking in the bathroom. Digusting.
I know alot of people could call this little house a disaster; but I'm a little nervous of moving out of it, due to the idea that we could easily move into somewhere much much worse. And I HATE house hunting. Going around getting viewings, then having to hear someone spout obvious lies to you about how "Roomy" somewhere is (Roomy for you to fit your stuff in, but not to be able to move around it when you put it in), or "the neutral shading" (Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that's meant to be a neutral cream colour, not a a light brown...) or even "The great close amenities like shops etc" (ie. You have nothing good to say about the inside, so talk about the great outside which is only going to make me want to sleep on the street instead of inside this dump). I feel like I should just tell the boys to look, but then the house wouldn't accommodate me, only their need to make loud noises.

By the way, if you ever fancy some cheap dark chocolate, eat Asda own brand...26p...it's really nice.

Toodle pip for now
Love Larakins.

I'm sorry I went away...

...Did I scare you?
I know, bad bad, terrible terrible person. Don't dare leave the blog alone again, it'll hurt itself!!
Guess what? I'm back in Brighton. And for the 5th..6th...day in a row, I'm sitting on the sofa bored out of my mind! The weather was lovely when I was away, and now It's dreary and dismal. No money to do anything. So I have caught up on so many T.v. programmes, and even found a new one to obsess over; Modern Family. If you can, watch it. Brilliant!
While sitting on my ass again, I'm watching my lover boy get irritated by the second over mumbo-jumbo paper and finance sheets. All this stupid bullshit has just revolved around us since I got back. Sorting money, Applying for jobs. All that crap. That was the beautiful thing of being back home, I could push the all the grown up thoughts to the side and just spend my pocket money on sweets, and fun stuff without any bad karma hitting me upside the head.
As far as I am aware, at this point, next year I shall be living with 4 males. It technically means I can get as hormonal as I want JUST to equal out and bring more feminine vibes to the house. Brilliant excuse. I'll be the house mother. Although they can bugger off if any of them think I will do any more than cook occasionally, bake once in a while, or moan when they haven't aimed correctly in the bathroom.

Talking of delicious baking, I made an apple crumble the other night. Thought to myself, "What am I to do with several apples that look super lonely and slightly decaying from that fruit bowl?". So I made a delicious crumble. One of the best parts is the smell that comes from the oven. The warm wafting current of cinnamon and apple in the air. Super homely! Shame I'm the only one appreciating my cooking skills. You would all be undeniably impressed.

My scars on the back of my leg aren't looking too bad. Still tiny bit of bruising, but nothing a tan can't fix! The new incision that was made to my leg last week isn't looking perhaps like anything I had hoped, but the lump is out and I'll happily trade a scar for it anyday. I went on Wednesday (I mean more that I trekked over Brighton) to the hospital to get my stitches out, and during the getting them out bit, the guy kept saying...
You really should have left these in a bit longer...it's looking a bit gapy now.

Well tell me this mister nurse man...should you not have stopped and told me to come back? So instead of a small 2 inch long line, I have a centimetre wide scar on my leg. Well, currently healing, not technically a scab yet.
I just wish the sun would come out, and brown me up!

So after lots of weeks off, I got back to Tech yesterday. And goodness me, alot had changed. A few had left, we have now started our second year, and we NOW work on proper clients! Ahhh. It is truly scary. But I decided to just jump in and start. It paid off, in more than one ways. I did the root tint successfully, AND I got a tip! Woo. A pound! Which believe it or not, I'm saving up. I'm super happy with it.
Oh, and I found out, that from the hair show, I came 5th in my group of 30. YAY!

I feel like having a good cup of tea.

Oh, got a new goldfish. Her name is Beyonce; we had received some sort of joke/prank/rumour text the night we got her, saying that the real Beyonce had died, so after looking allllll round the internet to find the truth, the fish was named Beyonce. It has a big bottom. So It works quite well.

I'm off to put the kettle on.

Good night :)

A temporary Lisp...

That's what I had for at least 3 1/2 hours today. I really dislike those injections into your gums. I was getting a beautiful replacement filling; I treated myself to a white one, it now looks like there hasn't been years of decay and neglect! Woo.
As for my sliced leg, it's doing awesome. Walking like normal, running like I never do. Pretty awesome I'd say for sure. Although from the knee upwards its a rainforest of fuzzy leg hair, and I still have to wear my white tube sock support thing. So I'd say for the next few weeks it's going to take alot before I get to sexy leg status.
I'm sitting enjoying a Pear Picking Porky ice lolly; a beautiful luxury. I don't particularly know how I can get through the summer in England without having delicious fruit flavoured water pops. There is only so much ice cream I can deal with. Its pretty much frozen milk, and noone wants milk on a warm day.

Here's a situation I want you to think about; You are at the zoo, you have two small children with you, around the ages of 10, Do you or do you not let them touch the wild animal? Keeping in mind there are several signs warning...
Do not Touch the animal. It will Bite if Annoyed.

I would guess your answer would be no? Well that would be correct. But according to a mother I seen at the zoo, She let her children do the above, along with throwing rocks at ducks, and feeding the praerie dogs. Disgusting.
Okay, I suppose, not being a mother, I can't say anything. But I'm pretty sure putting them at risk isn't a thumbs up.
Ohh ohhh ohh, or how about teaching your one year old to say such classic phrases as...
Fuck Off

Beautiful. Especially in a park, full of innocent, non corrupted children. But then again, if the mother of the child is as orange as a brick wall, with dry seaweed extensions and wearing cut off trackie bottoms, you can 'understand'. The next generation. I can't wait to see them in full swing.
Though there is hope in the shape of my little brother. He showed a profound respect for the animals in the zoo. I daresay the monkeys were his favourite that day. The ooooohhs and ahhhssss were brilliant to listen to. And I have gained some respective muscle in my arms from lifting him around. Buff as!

Well, on the point of exercise. Here is a bit of mathematics for you;
Girls + A Man's Bicycle + 3 1/2 miles = Sore Bruised Bum

So not pleasant. As my friend, Becky, who came cycling with me, the seat was described as a "Hard Plastic Thong". Disgusting and unnecessary for someone who has a frankly flat ass. No padding pretty much.

Talking of sore bums, mine has gone numb from sitting here. Must dash!

Toodlepip, Lara.

ps. I will leave you with this delightful image. Makes your insides feel a childish glee.

Typical Me...

I start something, then abandon it as soon as I have other things to do. Honestly, where are my priorities?
Although I'll proclaim this blog is something to be done when not in my hometown, as then I have things to do, people to see, actually get out of the house and not sit online needlessly for hours.
But as I find myself, sitting downstairs with a dog snoring, and my 3rd cup of tea completely empty beside me, I thought since it's been about 13 days since I have wrote one of these, that it's my duty before it becomes stale and irretrievable on starting back on.
So, a leggy update. I'm a hell of alot better. The past 13 days have consisted of alot of..
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhawwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhh
and other various noises while shifting my bottom off the seat that I had been sitting in for several hours. Stiff, sore, slightly cramped leg has not been my friend. The night I had to get the stitches off was not a proud moment for me. Sobbing in the bath, too scared to look at my own leg for fear that I may projectile vomit over myself. Disgusting. Such a poof to pain!
I was a big girl the next day, and I just sucked it up. Not a single tear. And Since that day it's been constant improvements. Walking is no small feat now, and I have accomplished the art of driving again. A small limp remains, along with a few dried scabs and bruising, but nothing the next 2 weeks and 5 days will not overcome!
After 3 weeks, I shaved the bottoms half of my legs, what a sight! I was beginning to look like some tree woman. Urgh.

It's been hectic the past week; dinners, lunches, bowling, meeting and greeting! hah. Just general good banter, and lots of catching up!
I'm trying to fill the next few weeks up with plenty to good photo opportunities, and many a good clothing bargin before I go back to the land of no money and have to do some job hunting.
I'm hoping some sunshine will come my way on Thursday, so me and my small brother can venture into the Zoo. It may take a few hours of hiking around, with both of us sitting in a buggy riding down the hills (HAHA), and if I get fed up, the penguins could get a new member to their pack ( I think he would be the same height, fit right in). But I can't wait!
I feel slight guilt of course that my beloved is stuck in the house with nothing to do; but I'm sure if I take him to the sealife centre to see the fish when I'm back, and make a nice dinner, it can make up for it :)

Well TaTa for now. I promise I won't abandon thee for long!

Hobbling along...

Done and dusted, or should I say done and wrapped up in bandages/support stocking.
After a weekend of catching up with the girls, and a lovely dinner, I endured the vascular surgery I had been looking forward to for ages.
Up at the crack of dawn on Monday to the hospital. I was mentally prepared, until they wheeled me into the operating theatre where I shook like there was an earthquake happening. I have a massive bruise on my arm from the blood thinning injection, and a kiddies plaster over where they stuck in that butterfly clip thing for the nice fluid stuff. And to be honest, that was one of the worst things. I hated having that tubing stuck in my hand; it's so painful. and Even if someone knocks it, it stings for ages. I was close to passing out when they took it out of my hand before I left at the end of the day.
I can't remember anything, like usually you can remember when they are about to put in the stuff to make you sleep (all this medical jargon I'm using! HAH) Last time they put that mask on me and made me count back from 5, last thing I can remember was the man sticking some stuff into the butterfly clip saying "Just giving you something to relax". I woke up just after they pulled that tubing that helps you breathe; which has now made my throat feel all horrible and scratchy.
I was fine afterwards for a while, but then my blood pressure went quite low, meaning they had to put my bed at some crazy angle, put the breathing mask on my face, have me hooked up to loads of monitors, and have the drip back in my hand. Oh, plus drink LOADS of water. I could feel it sloshing inside me for ages.

A few hours later and they got me onto my feet, I had already told the nurses I was a serial wuss, and complain at any type of pain. So their method of helping me was telling me to "Man up". Yes I did not have my leg amputated, or chewed or anything as bad, but everything was still raw from having my leg sliced into, but nooooo, "WALK PROPERLY" is all I heard. How impossible when it hurts, you feel dizzy and tired, and they have put so much bandaging on your leg that its impossible to bend.

I hobbled back home, up the stairs, down the stairs. Lying comfortably is still a problem without touching the bruising on the back of my leg. But having a shower was real fun. One leg out of the bath, one in, balancing act indeed.
I got all the bandaging changed to a beautiful white stocking yesterday, which was horrible. The nurse was nicer to me though; but now because it's all looser, I can feel the bruising more...it's creepy!

Still shuffling about and stuck in the house for a few days. But looking forward to tomorrow; Getting to see Lesley! YAY!

Until then I'm catching up on watching America's Next Top Model; it's a fabulous show!!

Ah until I get some creative words flowing, I'll talk to you then :)

Bout ye...

HOME! Currently lying on the comfort of my own bed. How lovely. I am thankful that part of this week is now behind me, and that I have so much to do over here, people to see, body parts to be cut open etc.

SO yeah, Wednesday night, I was just chillin' in my crib, when I realised I was. ALONE. No loverboy, No roommates, everyone except Eddie had left me (Although when encased in a bowl, He doesn't have much choice in the matter). And I had complained earlier that being without your other half in a different country is, well horrible, but being left alone, in a flat, in a different country, without being told; is torture :(
Needless to say I was a wreck, constantly;
What was that noise?
.
I hated it. Overly aware of security, People following me and all that bullshit. Sure you can all say " How nice to have the house to yourself!". But I always prefer to have a slight buzz of motion from another person surrounding me, makes me feel more at ease incase someone breaks in and stabs me for some pasta and a flat screen tv.
Two days of it, and I survived; although stress levels reached critical as did paranoia.

Thankfully to break up the last day of me being alone was the hair show. From 11 til 9 at night I was swamped in hairspray fumes and glitter. Great fun. Such a rush, although panic set in when I realised one of my earlier ideas was impossible, but backcombing saved the day and this was my end result...

I'm really happy with the way it went; although after looking at the rest of the entries I probably could have pushed the boundaries somewhat. So after all the kerfuffle of getting ready, and taking ages to go and wait to go on stage, it all happened in a blur. And it was really fun :)
Didn't win, although I knew heart of hearts that I wasn't going to, such high competition! Though I would like to state the unfairness of the winner of our category since her hair was just a wig. Not exactly pro styling when you bought it that way. Cheater.
Not that I'm bitter.

So after the show, it was back to the empty flat, feel a bit lonely over some super noodles, pack my bag and sleep.
Funny thing; bit hard to sleep after hearing loads of spooky noises, and having a poster fall on your head in the dark in the middle of your slumber!

I hate travelling. I hate the waiting around. The document handing over. The packing. All that bullshit. But I'm fairly happy that it went without any bumps today, and flew in ( HAHA ).
Made a slight tit of myself at the airport though. I was trying my best to pack and make sure I wasn't over 20kgs; as most of the time I am over and have to quickly shove some stuff in my hand luggage so I don't have to pay extra. So obviously when I got to the desk to check in, they might not have appreciated me getting all giddy and smiley when the scales go to 19.7kg. AH HA. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Don't think the checkout woman must have ever been in my position to understand. Obviously.

So flight, ya da ya da ya da, land, and I meet my mother; very happy to see me, and likewise for me seeing her. And it obviously was meant to be that I flew back on this day...They were giving free Tayto crisps to arrivals. How marvellous. They decide to greet me back into my homeland by giving me my favourite snack of all time. It was a sign!

The rest of the day was seeing the rest of my family and experiencing Indian food. Delicious. The rice was much better than what you get in a chinese. Full. And my favourite of the whole night was Rogan Josh. Just lovely!

So I'm off to kip now, to then go be reunited with my loverboy :)

I'm gonna head. Taataa for now!

All By Myself...

You would think with me having lived 18 years of being an only child, that I would have got used to doing things or being alone etc. But no. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Yes, it has only been 12 hours since my beloved abandoned me to go fly home for his easter trip home, and yes, I may have only been awake for 4 hours. But I already know I don't like it.
Waking up alone, Buying food shopping for yourself for the next 4 days, washing up, and having to make my own cups of tea is horrible. I can easily say I never want to be a lonely spinster. God, even a cat right now would be quite nice to have around!
Although Eddie (the fish) has to spend most of his time alone, so now I can sympathise with him, and we could even eat dinner together!
I can't be angry with my lovely though, his 2nd time home, unlike this trip on Friday which will be my 5th. And he did buy me a book yesterday to keep me amused while I'm alone. As he put it
"It's a little present to make you feel a bit better about yourself."
... The theme/story of the book...its a memoir of a lady helping kids who were abused. A feel good book. Obviously.
I do enjoy books like this though. As sick as it sounds when you tell someone "Ohhh, my favourite style of books?? Oh, sad stories..you know...child abuse, beatings!" Makes me sound pretty sadistic. But I don't mean it like that at all, I just like reading them; knowing about other people's way of life, and how they overcome it. And stuff like that!

So I hear you ask, what am I going to do with myself for the next few days? I'll tell you! Not much.
I do however have the Hair show coming up on Thursday, that's the only thing that's really keeping me here until Friday. Tomorrow is the rehearsal; walking down the catwalk and that bullocks. Thursday is the official show. The theme is 'Cirque De Glamour"...and although I have props, a model and some extra hair...I don't know what I'm doing. To be simple, I'm planning to wing it. Simple. I've found with myself that when I do that, it turns out great, but I can never repeat what I did, because it was generally, a fluke!
I'm quite excited, It's gonna be an exciting rush, a good laugh with the rest of the girls. AND it's a chance to wear something new. It's quite sad that that's the first thing I did when I was planning it. I got myself a new outfit :) To justify it, I do have to walk down the catwalk too, and I might as well look professional!

Tonight, I am going to read some of my book, eat goujons and chips, and listen to some more acoustic covers. I feel quite partial to a bit of an acoustic cover these days, here's a little treat for your ears to prove my point; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gVxRvNfFLg

Enjoy & Night nights from me & Eddie.
